Sunday At Royston ARts Festival

On the final day of the festival ROYSTON PHOTOGRAPHIC SOCIETY EXHIBITION presents photographic images created by society members with individual interpretations of the festival theme of ‘renewal’ and open subjects. When: 10.30am  – 4.30pm  Where: Town Hall  FREE

LIMITLESS ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS presents ‘PRIVATE PEACEFUL’  The two-time award winning production of Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful. Set in Ypres, 1916, no mans Land in World War One. The night before his execution at dawn, Private Tommo Peaceful looks back at his short but joyful life, recounting as many memories as he possibly can in an attempt to “Feel Alive” before facing the firing Squad.  When: 4.30pm  Where:  King James Academy Senior Hall. CREATIVE ROYSTON presents the ‘FINALE’ CONCERT The end of festival concert featuring  a variety of amateur and professional performers to round off the festival in the traditional manner.  When: 7.30pm onwards (Private until then!) Where: online at

On Tuesday 28th September ROYSTON PICTURE PALACE presents ‘ROMEO & JULIET’ Josh O’Connor (The Crown) and Jessie Buckley (Wild Rose, Judy) star as the passionate couple in this exciting version of Shakespeare’s play, filmed at the National Theatre in lockdown. Saturday at ROYSTON Arts Festival

Move on to ROYSTON & DISTRICT TWINNING ASSOCIATION‘S – PAELLA COOKING DEMO –  FREE to observe or buy ticket for a portion of paella with complimentary Sangria. When: 12 noon  Where: Backstreet Catering, Royston Market Tickets: £6.50 from or from Backstreet Catering.

Another alternative during the day would be to take a drive out to BARKWAY VILLAGE which is welcoming everyone to its first LITERARY FESTIVAL. In the evening you might be torn between CORVUS AMATEUR DRAMATIC SOCIETY (CADS) presentation of STRANGERS AT A FESTIVAL a unique evening of drama and film, and ROYSTON TOWN BAND’s BRASS IN THE PARK concert featuring popular tunes from classic brass band music, modern themes, west end musicals and movies.
