Statement on Coronavirus (COVID-19) situation

In the light of recent developments relating to the spread of the Coronavirus the following statement is designed to clarify the situation with the 2020 Royston Arts Festival.

As the festival is still six months away (dates on right) the Creative Royston Management Committee (CRMC) will continue to plan for the festival as normal. This means that we continue to invite submissions from groups and individuals who wish to take part in the festival. Details of how to do so can be found on the post headed ‘2020 Events and Seed-Funding’ below.

We hope that by September some degree of normality will have returned and that the people of Royston will welcome the staging of the  festival after what is clearly going to be a difficult few months.

Equally clearly CRMC will need to review the situation in the coming months and anticipate that a final decision on whether to go ahead will probably be necessary around the end of June.

CRMC will be planning our own events whilst keeping expenditure to a minimum and we advise that other event organisers proceed on the same basis as any advance expenditure may need to be written off if the festival cannot take place.

In the meantime, we hope everyone will stay safe and that we will be able to welcome you to Royston Arts Festival later this year.

Best wishes from all at CRMC.
