SATURDAY 22 SEPTEMBER The Royston Fringe in association with the Rotary Club of Royston, supporting the Garden House Hospice A nostalgic evening of jazz standards. We welcome back this 15 piece band with two vocalists who will capture the golden era of jazz from the 1920s and onwards in an evening of fun, swing and foot-tapping! SUNDAY 23 SEPTEMBER Creative Royston, supported by Brian Leslie Racher Trust The third Royston MusicFest has moved! To accommodate more music, this year we’ve scheduled it the weekend before the main Arts Festival. The afternoon of free music will begin around 12.30pm and culminate in a free gala concert at The Old Bull Inn starting at 7pm. As well as some old favourites, we’ve got lots of new music coming your way. Cracked Voices

THURSDAY 27 SEPTEMBER Cracked Voices, supported by the Arts Council of England and the PRS Foundation. Proceeds to the MindED Trust Classical songs from Jenni Pinnock (composer) and Graham Palmer (writer) giving voice to forgotten characters, from Servandus waiting on his lost Celtic goddess at Ashwell to the POWs celebrating Hitler's birthday on Therfield Heath. Featuring the premiere of Meridian School's 'Cracked Objects', songs created by students based on objects from Royston Museum. Featuring professional performers: Miles Horner - Baritone; Donna Lennard - Soprano; Sue Pettitt - Clarinet; Ralph Woodward – Piano. Bell Ringing Demonstration - FREE

SATURDAY 29 SEPTEMBER Royston Bell Ringers The Royston bell tower will open up to demonstrate the ancient art of bell ringing. Every 30 minutes, there will be a talk about the bells, a ringing demonstration and the opportunity to have a go. Ages 8 to 80 (under-eights need to be supervised at all times). Brass Roots Coffee Morning - FREE

Jazz in the Afternoon with Caxton Swing
