2016 AGM & 2015 ANNUAL REPORT

We were delighted to have 35 people attend our AGM last night at the Old Bull Inn.

The officers of the Creative Royston Management Committee (CRMC) for 2016 were elected at the meeting and now comprise:-

Chairperson: Claire Somerville
Vice Chair: Sarah Dingley
Secretary: Carl Filby
Treasurer: Thomas Lingard

Sue Pettitt stood down as Vice-Chair having spent 9 years involved in the festival and Claire Somerville paid tribute to Sue’s important contribution over the years, including organising the much-loved and now annual Finale Concert.

The Creative Royston 2015 Annual Report was emailed to booked attendees prior to the meeting and can now be viewed and downloaded by clicking here.

Claire reviewed the past year with reference to the Annual Report and the aid of a projector taking the audience through some of the highlights of the 2015 festival. She then looked forward to the 2016 festival with its theme of ‘Carnival’ which will include events running from Friday 16th to Sunday 25th September. She also said that CRMC would focus its events this year on one ‘big’ weekend on Saturday 24th and Sunday 25th. It is the aim of the committee to bring the town centre alive with a host of activities including a carnival procession; family activities in Priory Gardens and related workshops on the Saturday and an extended version of Royston MusicFest with music around the town on the Sunday.

The deadline for submitting events this year will be 29th April and Claire reminded everyone about the seed-funding application process which will share the same deadline. Watch out for details of the process to submit events which will appear on the website within the next few days.

CRMC will also be involved in a number of other events during the year outside the festival including another Voluntary Arts Week; a family activity day at the Museum, and the Doodle Dance Show – a family orientated interactive dance show.
