Now & Then: Vintage Toys and Games
Test out some vintage toys and games at the Museum – How do they compare with the toys and games you play with today? Then it’s your chance to make some of your own retro toys to take home, including papier mache boats, bobbin cars, flick books and more. Ringing the changes – Royston Bell Ringers
The Royston tower will open up to demonstrate the Ancient Art of Bell Ringing. Every 30 minutes, there will be a talk about the bells, a ringing demonstration and the opportunity to have-a-go.

This will be a showcase of innovative choreography and drama created by our GSTARS students looking inside themselves to address the changes that occur throughout the process of growing up. Come along for a morning of entertainment that will have you dancing in the aisles. Creative Royston Community Arts Event
Join us for a fun family event in Priory Memorial Gardens. With live music from Molly Chenoa, Scrambells and Garden City Samba, ceramic painting with Glazed Creations, knitting and crochet with No.3 Royston, and workshops in handbell ringing and Brazilian carnival drumming. There’ll also be refreshments including a licensed bar run by AdHoc, as well as local art from Paul Human and live art by graffiti artist Gnasher. To celebrate in style, we’re inviting you to join us for a Ceilidh dance with Dangerous Circles Ceilidh Band from 4pm. Everybody’s welcome and there’ll be a caller to show you what to do!
Approx. 2.20pm: Prize giving for Creative Writing Competition in ARENA.

Everything Changes… Graham Palmer
A writing workshop exploring place and time
Whether you’re a beginner in creative writing or a more advanced writer looking for ideas, this half-day workshop will help you shape a setting for your story, blog or poem. Using historic photos from the Museum’s storeroom, it will provide an opportunity to discover how a sense of change and place can inspire your own writing. *
* This workshop may also prove useful to those preparing for the Creative Writing element in the GCSE English exam.

Royston Cave Tours
by Royston & District Local History Society
Royston Cave is beehive shaped and cut into the chalk that underlies the town. Much of its surface is adorned with medieval style carvings depicting saints and other religious scenes. The Cave lay concealed until 1742 when it was rediscovered by accident and since then people have been trying to solve the mystery of the Cave’s origin and purpose. www.roystoncave.co.uk
