Phoenix Chorus – The Royston Fringe

in association with the Rotary Club of Royston

Phoenix Chorus is a group of 75 women who specialise in A cappella singing. They have achieved great success in National and International competitions. Singing carefully crafted barbershop arrangements dating from the first half of the twentieth century, they also like to ring the changes and perform songs from the shows together with work by the likes of Adele, Stevie Wonder and Queen. Jazz and Blues with Caxton Swing

Caxton Swing Jazz Band with its distinctive ‘little-big band’ sound will perform dearly loved jazz tunes – instrumental and vocal jazz ‘standards’ – to show how musicians have re-shaped them over time to reflect changing taste. Afternoon Tea with Felici – The Royston Fringe

Felici are a professional group of singers and musicians from Herts and Beds. They will present a delightful selection of light music – from Merry Widow to Noel Coward, from Gilbert and Sullivan to Flanders and Swann – ideal entertainment for a Sunday afternoon. Those performing for your delectation will be Zoë Jasko (Soprano), David Crew (Baritone), Howard Etherington (Clarinet & Saxophone) and Margaret Johnson (Piano). www.royston-methodist.org.uk

Royston MusicFest ’17

Creative Royston, supported by Brian Leslie Racher Trust

A day of FREE music at 10 venues across the town. Each venue will host up to five sessions throughout the afternoon, creating up to 50 mini concerts to please the ear! Jazz, Blues, Country, Pop, Rock, contemporary and traditional folk – you can find them all at Royston MusicFest ’17. From solo artists to six-piece bands you’ll be amazed at how good the local Herts/ Cambs music scene is. Just follow your ears and come and hear for yourself.

Artists confirmed to date: Boxwood Chessmen, Chris Brimley, CarnaC, Melody Causton, Pat Crilly & Greg Camburn, Chris Fox, The Larks, Martin Kaszak, Sheri Kershaw Band, Kelly & Woolley, Daniel Lumley (Dusty Wagons), John Meed, Daniel Nestlerode, Red Velvet, Sky West, Bill Tarran, Thursday’s Band, Alexander Veitch Trio.

A full schedule will be published around the beginning of September and the MusicFest website can be checked right up to the day of performance for information on acts and any last minute changes to the  schedule.

Creative Royston – Festival Finale Concert

Come along to the Finale Concert and see the talented youngsters of Royston and the surrounding areas shining brightly! The first half will present music by St. Mary’s School, Tannery Drift First School, Roysia and Greneway Middle Schools. The second half will showcase performances by Meridian School and Royston Town Band. Our finale concert wouldn’t be the same without a singalong at the end and this year we will be lead by local soprano Hannah Theobald.
