Creative Royston & Voluntary Arts Week 2016
We’re inviting community groups and societies in and around Royston to open their doors during Voluntary Arts Week 2016, to encourage new people to find out more and get involved!
Voluntary Arts Week (VAW) is a national initiative where volunteer-led groups run activities or open workshops/rehearsals/talks. It has involved 1000’s of people from across the UK and Ireland. This will be the third consecutive year in which Creative Royston has helped celebrate and promote the great opportunities there are in the town as part of VAW.

Key details:
When is it? – Friday 6th to Sunday 15th May
Who can take part? – Any volunteer-led group, society or organisation that runs arts or creative activities e.g. photography, painting, singing, dancing, drama, film, knitting, crafts etc
What do we have to do? – Organise an activity or event to take place during VAW. This could be opening up your regular rehearsal, putting on a free talk or demonstration, organising a workshop… whatever you think you can manage with the resources you have. It should aim to help people learn more about your group, society or organisation and hopefully join in as a regular attendee. Your activity should be free or low cost to enable as many people as possible to take part.
We have an activity planned, what now? – Email details of your activity using the submission form link below which won’t take attachments, so please also separately email a photograph we can use on a printed flyer (if space) and online, to Pamela Morton at community@creativeroyston.org by 30th March 2016.
What will Creative Royston do? – We will confirm whether or not we can include your event in VAW and then add details of it to the printed flyer we’ll distribute in and around Royston. We’ll add your activity to the Creative Royston website, Voluntary Arts Week website, Creative Hertfordshire Website and our Facebook and Twitter news feeds. We’ll also send out a press release detailing all the activities taking place during VAW to local media.

By submitting an event the named organiser understands that Creative Royston Management Committee accept no liability for events or activities delivered by other groups, societies and organisations. Organisers are responsible for their own insurance, safeguarding and health and safety procedures during their activities.
