Voluntary Arts Week | 15-24 May 2015
Creative Royston is celebrating Voluntary Arts Week 2015 by showcasing the creative talents of local arts groups. With a range of activities on offer and all for free, why not have a go at something new!
Royston Photographic Society | Evening Photowalk
Tuesday 19 May 2015, starting at 7pm (meet at the American war memorial in Priory Memorial Gardens, Royston)
Bring a camera (any camera is suitable from a phone camera to a DSLR). We will walk around the centre of Royston taking photographs of interesting things that catch our attention such as plants, reflections etc. You will be encouraged to try to take pictures from different angles and to experiment. You will also be given instructions on how to share these images (if you wish) on the internet when you get home.

GuySing | Come and Sing with GuySing

GuySing along with Creative Royston invite you to join then in an ‘open singing session’. Men of all ages and abilities are welcome to join GuySing led by Linda Bance to have a good sing of songs from many different genres. GuySing is an all-male choir who meet each Wednesday evening in Royston during term time to sing together and learn the art of choral singing. No previous experience needed. Sense of humour essential.
Royston Writers’ Group | “Picture This” – workshop

Priory Close Community Centre (in the town hall in Royston)
Join our small, friendly group for this workshop. There will be lots of pictures taken from various magazines provided on the night and we will all choose a couple and write a short piece inspired by our choice.

Bassingbourn Village Band | Open rehearsal

The band is throwing open its regular Thursday rehearsal to the public. Anyone is welcome to call by to listen, or bring their musical instrument and join in. If joining in, you will need to read music and, of course, play your instrument, but not necessarily to a high standard.

Royston Town Band | Open rehearsal
Thursday 21 May 2015, 7:30pm at Tannery Drift School, Royston
Royston Town Band is hosting an open rehearsal. The music will be from the band’s usual repertoire and the rehearsal is open to all ages and abilities who are welcome to come and join in or just listen. Players will need to have their own instrument (a few may be available if we have advanced notice) and the rehearsal may not be suitable for complete beginners.
