LOOKING FOR A GIG?
Creative Royston is looking for musicians, solo performers, duos or bands, to participate in a day of music as part of Royston Arts Festival on Sunday 25th September. It will be loosely modelled on the Hertford Musical Mystery Tour though on a smaller scale.
We are calling it Royston MusicFest ’16 and it will be a day of free music available in venues (mainly pubs) around Royston during the day. We see it as principally a ‘showcase’ event and more than 18,000 festival programmes are printed and distributed to outlets in North-East Herts and South Cambs. Creative Royston is entirely run by volunteers and relies on sponsorship and grants, so there will be no fees paid but a reasonable sum to cover expenses will be paid to each performer or band member which can therefore mount up to a tidy sum. There will also be opportunities to sell merchandise, CDs etc…
Please be aware that we are asking bands to provide their own sound equipment for which there will be a small additional payment. All performers must be able to sustain a performance lasting between 45 and 60 minutes. If not an ‘established’ act on the ‘local’ (or national) music scene they will also need to supply some evidence of their suitability in the form of recorded material either on a CD, via YouTube or a website, Facebook etc… together with some details of past experience as no auditions will be held.
